Skip Lakia
As a high school student athlete at Fairport, Skip participated in football, basketball, and track. He was voted the 1973 Homecoming King and selected to the Fellowship for Christian Athletes. Skip’s honors include:
- Football: Captain, MVP, First Team All ESC, All County
- Basketball: Captain, MVP, First Team All ESC, All County
- Track: MVP, 2-time State Qualifier
He won the 1973 State Championship in the high jump, setting a state record at 6'6.5", was a 120 yd H.H. Qualifier, and placed fifth at the 1972 State Meet in the long jump.
Skip valued youth development and gave back to the community as an adult. He was a youth coach and active parent involved with youth wrestling, soccer, football, baseball, basketball, softball, and 4-H. He also served as a little league umpire, middle school and youth wrestling referee.
Skip’s motto is "Give Back".
