Patricia A. Sandhill Spivak

Patricia A. Sandhill Spivak graduated FHS in 1959. She retired from Sears in 1991. In 1991 Pat received an Associate Degree in Travel and Tourism from Lakeland Community College. She joined the part-time faculty at LCC teaching Travel and Tourism from 1993-2006. Pat was owner/partner of Fairwinds Travel and Tours focusing on group tours to Europe. She created itineraries and led groups to Finland, Ireland, Hungary, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. Pat became an Austrian Certified Travel Specialist (1992), a Holland Travel Professional (1994), and a Switzerland Certified Specialist (1998).

Pat served as president of the Fairport Harbor Business Association (2004-2005), vice president of the Finnish Heritage Museum (2007-2012), and past president of the Harding High School Alumni. Pat also received the Fairport Men’s Civic Club Citizen of the Year award in 2007.

In 2008 Pat founded the Fairport Harbor Tourism Council, a nonprofit charity, to promote and market Fairport Harbor as a destination.
