Lee Silvi
After serving three years in the Army, where he earned the final rank of Sergeant, Lee spent the next twenty-eight years in public service. He served as a firefighter, investigator, safety officer, and fire chief. Concurrently, for most of those years, he was an adjunct faculty member of the Ohio Fire Academy and Lakeland Community College, where he also designed courses and three degree programs. Upon retirement from the fire service, he became a full-time professor at Lakeland for eighteen years.
Lee has ten published articles in international journals. He was reelected multiple times to the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress – Board of Governors and has conducted college accreditation inspections nationwide. In his retirement, he has been extensively documenting Fairport Harbor history in articles and photos.
Among other organizations, he currently volunteers as a docent for the Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse and as an usher for Playhouse Square.
