Jerold P. Gurley
Jerold P. Gurley (1975), M.D., F.A.C.S., the Class of 1975. Dr. Gurley excelled in sports at FHS lettering 4 years in multiple sports. Following college, he continued his graduate studies at the Medical College of Ohio, graduating with honors. He continued his training in Orthopedic Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital, serving as chief resident.
Dr. Gurley then subspecialized in spinal surgery, completing two spine surgery Fellowships in Adult and Pediatric spine. Throughout his career he has been active both academically and professionally, serving in various academic leadership positions including the editorial review board of 'Spine', the global peer review journal for spinal surgery.
He has worked with global industry leaders, designing and holding patents for spinal implants which have become the global standard of care in spinal surgery. He and his wife Karen have three children. He credits many for his success in life, but none more than his parents for, 'Giving me shoulders to stand on'.
