James (Jay) Andrew Clark
Jay was in the 1970 Fairport Harding High School graduating class. He participated in football
and wrestling lettering three years in each sport. After graduation he joined the United States
Army where he served as a helicopter crew chief in Vietnam flying scout combat assault missions for 14 months. He later went on to serve as a crew chief in a Medevac helicopter
company serving three tours in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom where he flew approximately
1,000 missions with each mission carrying one to 12 wounded soldiers. He was a distinguished
Army Aeroscout Flight School graduate, Jay has received numerous air medals for combat over
his 30-year military career.
He also had an artistic talent spending 25 years on stage as a principal dancer for Rocky Mountain Ballet, guest artist for Colorado Ballet, and as an actor in plays and musicals. He danced in multiple story ballets including the "Nutcracker," "Peter Pan," "Hunchback of Notre Dame," "Sleeping Beauty," and others. Jay also became an electrical contractor running his own business, Clark Electric, employing 100 workers.
After retiring from the Colorado Army National guard Jay completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre, film, and television graduating in 2016. In 2018 he married his first love and high school sweetheart that he met on the beach in Fairport in the summer of 1969.
