Howard Eckert
Howard Eckert was a 1952 graduate of Fairport Harding High School and is a member of the Fairport Alumni Association, Historical Society, Civic Club and Slovenian Club. He graduated from Bowling Green with a B.S. in Business. Howard is best known for his work as an athletic official. He spent the 43 years officiating College Football as well as 20 years officiating College Basketball.
Over the years Howard has officiated at 5 Bowl games and numerous Division III College playoff games. Howard also officiated at the first night game at Notre Dame (Notre Dame vs. Miami) and officiated several Army - Navy Games. He was the Game Clock Operator for the Cleveland Browns from 1967 -1992. Howard and his wife Marilyn reside in Willoughby and have 6 wonderful children.
