George Sarvay
George Sarvay worked for NASA Lewis Research Center and received numerous Special Achievement Awards for technical and managerial contributions. He was a member of the Advanced Turboprop Project Team that was awarded the Collier Aviation Trophy, considered the most prized American Aeronautical Award. For outstanding engineering and leadership contributions to the support of aeronautics, launch vehicles, terrestrial energy, and space technology programs, George received the NASA Exceptional Service Medal.
He co-authored six NASA technical publications that covered NASA chemical launch vehicle structures and was a Design Criteria Reviewer for six NASA Headquarters’ monogram publications. He chaired the Center’s Safety Committee for aircraft flight operations and was a member of ICARE system action team which procured and set up the original Interactive Computer Graphics and CAD/CAM equipment that upgraded NASA’s design and drafting.
