Eva Bonczek Friend
Eva K. Friend is the Senior Enlisted Leader of the 88th Medical Group, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She is the commander’s principal advisor for the Air Force’s largest medical center, composed of 57 beds, 40 clinics, and 17 graduate education and enlisted training programs. She is responsible for 2,000 personnel across 73 diverse specialties, generating $95 million annually in services to 62,000 beneficiaries. She organizes, trains, and equips mission-ready medics in 161 force elements for war-fighting operations across the globe.
Eva graduated in 2000 and enlisted in the Air Force after high school. She has held numerous positions and received many honors within the aircraft maintenance, medical, and professional military education career fields. Additionally, she has deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and SOUTHERN WATCH.
Chief Friend is married to Master Sergeant (retired) Andrew Friend and has four children: Kayla, Dylan, Bryce, and Madelyn.
