Andrea Bender Musial
Andrea (Andie) Musial is a 2003 graduate of Fairport Harding High School and earned her Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees from Lakeland Community College in 2003. Andie earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Notre Dame College in 2005, her Master of Arts in Human Physiology from Kent State University (KSU) in 2008, and her Doctorate in Biological Sciences: Neuroscience from KSU in 2012.
Andie is a professor of Biology at Lakeland and serves as the co-advisor for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, for which she has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the national awards for Distinguished Excellence for Advising in 2022 and Continued Excellence in Advising in 2024.
Among her many accomplishments, she is a 2022 graduate of Leadership Lake County, was awarded the United Way of Lake County “4 under 40” in 2024, received the Lakeland Excellence in Education award in 2019, and was inducted into the Lakeland Alumni Hall of Fame in 2022.
Andie has volunteered for several charitable causes including Project NICU, United Way, Brain Awareness Week, and is a member of Women United. Andie competed in college athletics, later coaching track and field. She coaches youth soccer, cheerleading, and is a Girl Scouts Troop Leader.
