Alan O'Janpa

As quarterback, Alan O’Janpa led Fairport Harding High School to an undefeated season in 1949 and won all but one game in 1950. During his junior and senior years he threw 40 touchdowns passes and was one of the only Class B player’s chosen to the prestigious Columbus Jaycees All- Ohio team. He received a full scholarship to The Ohio State University under coach Woody Hayes.

After serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green and his Masters Degree from Kent State. He taught Health and Physical Education and coached football for 26 years. As head coach, his track teams won 5 league championships in the Freeway and Greater Cleveland Conferences.
